Hands-On
Learning

Including project-based learning, experiential learning, inquiry learning, and solution-based learning.

Our Advanced Wholistic Education (A.W.E.)  truly blossoms in Little Earth Iowa's k-5 curriculum where learners are able to dive into more complex projects that blend in seamlessly rich curricular content and place core academics such as Language, Math, Science and Social Studies in context.

AWE prepares students in core academic competencies while empowering them to act on local and global sustainability challenges across different areas such as climate change, social injustices and biodiversity loss.

is based on contemporary, evidence-based, unbiased, and non-diluted curricular content, shifting away from teaching practices that focus on standardized learning.

Core learning such as Language, Math, Science, and Social Studies are woven through Little Earth Iowa's overarching sustainability-driven curriculum enriched with subjects such as:

Regenerative Agriculture                  Land Preservation

Culinary Art                                         School to Table

Astronomy                                          Conscious Body Movement

Arts                                                      Knitting

Story Telling                                        Bushcraft

The society we are building requires all different type of heroes.

Little Earth honors the unique abilities of each individual and welcomes children with diverse abilities and diverse superpowers.

Children are paired based on their individual level of curiosity, understanding and ability rather than a mere biological age.

At Little Earth success is a result not a goal.

Goals are collectively and individually set, curiosity and imagination are encouraged.

We strongly believe that learners shouldn't strive to learn to get a grade, just like they shouldn't work to get a paycheck. When children are engaged and passionate about what and how they learn, they take pride and ownership that leads to success, but most importantly builds their character and resilience.

There is nothing standard about your child, why would you want a standard education?

We believe"standards” and homologation have no place in multi-faceted, critically thinking society.

Tests, grading, and worksheets are archaic methods that have been proven to be detrimental to the self esteem of the individual leading to anxiety and demoralization.

Instead we put in place self and peer assessment, scientific, collaborative and project-based objectives that stimulate engagement and ownership.
